Senior Mechanical Designer
About The Position
This is a production design/engineering position. This Employee will be designing HVAC systems for projects to support senior level Engineers/Project Managers. Future project management opportunities available if qualified/desired. The role requires an excellent work ethic, self-direction, and motivation. The employee must be able to work independently, manage their workload, and adhere to company standards and project timelines. Responsibilities include 2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit modeling, HVAC equipment selection and scheduling, and design of chilled water, hot water, and duct systems. The position also involves field investigations and construction administration.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in Commercial Mechanical HVAC systems design.
- Understanding of system application in Healthcare facilities.
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience.
- Field knowledge required.
- Able to visit and walk existing project sites for renovation projects.
- Able to analyze existing conditions.
Nice To Haves
- PE a plus, not required.
- Healthcare experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Designing HVAC systems to support senior level Engineers/Project Managers.
- Performing duties independently without supervision.
- Managing workload schedule without supervision.
- 2D AutoCAD drawing.
- 3D Revit model drawing.
- Understanding HVAC equipment selections (AHU’s, Chillers, CV & VAV boxes, Pumps, Heat exchangers) and producing schedules.
- Chilled water system design.
- Hot water system design.
- Duct system design for Primary and Secondary systems.
- Field investigations.
- Construction Administration.
