About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a goal-oriented, detail-focused Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) team in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role focuses on production support for commercial and military products, including quality notifications, corrective actions, engineering changes, cost reduction, and producibility improvements. The engineer will work cross-functionally with operations, quality, procurement, engineering SMEs, and outsource teams to drive root-cause solutions and continuous improvement. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require RTX to shorten or extend the application window.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in mechanical engineering, design, manufacturing, production support, or a related engineering discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace industry experience in a design and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics/NX, ANSYS, and classical engineering analysis methods.
  • Understanding of aerospace hardware, engineering blueprints/drawings, and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with Quality Notifications, engineering changes, Cost of Poor Quality, or producibility improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and cultural-awareness skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead corrective-action activities associated with Quality Notifications (QNs), cost reduction, and producibility initiatives, driving issues from root-cause investigation through implementation and closure.
  • Develop Class II engineering change packages using Pro-Cert methodology and data-driven decision-making to improve quality, cost, and product/process producibility.
  • Lead Engineering First Piece Reviews at suppliers, Cost of Poor Quality and production improvement initiatives, identify process waste, and proactively eliminate recurring QNs and repeat analysis.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, procurement, engineering SMEs, outsource teams, and suppliers to develop and implement product and process improvements while strengthening technical execution.
  • Prepare and present technical content and program status to Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)/ESTO management, and Program Management, while capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement into the product development cycle.
