You’ll make a real impact across multiple Thermo King product platforms, supporting systems used around the world. This is a hands‑on, highly technical role where you can apply your expertise in enclosure design, materials, and manufacturing, while also expanding your skills through exposure to a wide range of modern technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) and at least 5 years of hardware development work experience is required. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Strong background with rugged PCB enclosure design for automotive/industrial applications (IP67/IP69, etc.).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo).
  • Basic understanding of injection molding and mold construction.
  • Strong understanding of material science, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.
  • Experience with thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Responsibilities

  • Creating detailed designs for enclosures using CAD software, considering factors like size, shape, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Choosing appropriate materials based on the enclosure's intended use, considering factors like strength, durability, cost, and environmental resistance.
  • Evaluating the enclosure's structural integrity using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure it can withstand anticipated loads and environmental conditions.
  • Designing for proper heat dissipation to prevent overheating of components, potentially using heat sinks, fans, or other cooling solutions.
  • Ensuring the enclosure effectively shields against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) to prevent malfunctions.
  • Maintaining manufacturing instructions, drawings, and specifications for the enclosures
  • Evaluate analytical and experimental test results following engineering principles to verify that products meet technical requirements and validating that the design solutions meet customer needs.
  • Apply systematic problem-solving skills to define issues, identify root causes, develop, qualify, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Develop and coordinate detailed testing; interpret, condense and present test data/results.
  • Maintain orderly project records. Document and communicate project status as required both verbally and in written form.
  • Release engineering component prints in product life cycle management systems.
