About The Position

PsiQuantum is dedicated to building the first useful quantum computers, aiming for million-qubit, fault-tolerant systems. Their approach leverages silicon photonics and advanced semiconductor manufacturing, partnering with companies like GlobalFoundries. They have government-funded projects in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois, and work with Fortune 500 companies to develop quantum solutions. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing highly complex and cutting-edge optomechanical and optoelectronic packages. This role requires close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and consistent application of Design for Manufacturability (DfM) principles. Essential skills include strong design capabilities incorporating mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, electronics, and precision design principles.

• Master’s Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline

Responsibilities

• Ownership of designs from prototype to production
• Expertise in Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly
• Expertise with GD&T
• Expertise with tolerance analysis methods
• Generate and maintain process flow documentation
• Conduct DFMEA, PFMEA & risk analysis heat maps
• Fixture design & fabrication
• Test set-up design & fabrication
• Generate & maintain BOM’s & build standards
• Generate & maintain Specification & Drawing Trees
• Ability to execute basic structural and thermal analyses to down-select designs
• Comfortable with PDM / Arena
