About The Position

This role involves providing mentorship and guidance to Mechanical engineers and designers, developing and managing project work plans, and being responsible for system selections, basis of design, and the quality of the work product. The engineer will attend project meetings, communicate effectively with project team members, and represent the Mechanical discipline at client meetings. Responsibilities also include coordination of mechanical/plumbing design with other project disciplines and the Project Manager, providing construction phase support (submittal review, RFI response), maintaining and developing mechanical/plumbing standards, and assisting the Mechanical Director with quality control. The position acts as a senior mechanical engineering and design resource, offering assistance and guidance in both HVAC and plumbing design, and fostering open and respectful communication to resolve problems and develop designs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of focused mechanical/plumbing design experience.
  • Mechanical Engineering Professional license.
  • Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software.
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Mechanical engineers and designers.
  • Develop and manage project work plans.

  • Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with project team members.
  • Represent the Mechanical discipline at client meetings and effectively communicate with clients as needed.
  • Coordination of the mechanical/plumbing design with other project disciplines and the Project Manager.
  • Construction phase support including submittal review and RFI response.
  • Maintain and develop mechanical/plumbing standards in collaboration with senior engineering staff.
  • Assist the Mechanical Director with mechanical/plumbing work product quality control.
  • Act as a senior mechanical engineering and design resource, providing assistance and guidance to project engineers and designers in both HVAC and plumbing design.
  • Confer openly and directly in a respectful and professional manner with other personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design.
