About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer to support engineering roles for nuclear projects. This position involves working on fast-paced, technically complex projects in the nuclear industry, contributing to new builds, refurbishments, and plant operation modifications. The role requires the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and review of various systems including Heating, Air conditioning, Ventilation, boilers, plumbing, chilled water, and building controls. Collaboration with other departments and conducting site visits are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

College diploma or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 10 years in mechanical design and drafting.
Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D (SP3)/Smart is a must.
Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Micro Station, Navisworks Manage and SolidWorks.
Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporate changes into AutoCAD files.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently.

Responsibilities

Reviewing the status of existing buildings prior to project design and performing site take offs.
Assisting in developing designs and technical specifications for systems such as Heating, Air conditioning, Ventilation, boilers, plumbing, chilled water, building controls, along with other related systems.
Assisting others in the office with several projects in a knowledge-sharing atmosphere.
Preparing drawings and construction documents.
Coordinating system requirements with the electrical department, architects, and relevant authorities.
Conducting site visits and inspections to review progress of construction.
