About The Position

As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations. This role involves being a team member, an expert in meat products and operations, a user of digital tools, an owner of business results, and a talent ambassador for the department and the club. You will be responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of various meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations. You will process meat according to specifications, ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines, and manage inventory. Additionally, you will leverage digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience, operate and maintain equipment, and assist members with purchasing decisions. You will also be responsible for ensuring merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored, and for complying with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity. Completing work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, and collaborating with managers and co-workers are key aspects of this role. The position requires adapting to change, difficulties, and feedback, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • 6 months’ experience working in a fresh production department.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if the position is received.

Responsibilities

  • Drives sales in their area to deliver to members more of what they love, for less.
  • Works collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams and helps educate other associates on tools, tasks and resources.
  • Communicates effectively and develops interpersonal skills for providing customer service.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the various types and seasonality of different meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations.
  • Provides meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications (for example, cutting, slicing, grinding, and wrapping meat products).
  • Ensures compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management.
  • Operates, maintains, and sanitizes equipment.
  • Leverages digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Utilizes hand held technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind.
  • Drives the business results, ensuring commitment to operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a work area according to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures quality and standards for high volume meat products.
  • Eliminates waste.
  • Secures fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
  • Assists members with purchasing decisions.
  • Ensures merchandise is properly packaged, labeled and stored.
  • Is an advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the meat area and modeling high quality service and products.
  • Executes the basics at highest possible level of quality.
  • Interacts with associates to understand the roadblocks and assists in training them to perform job-related duties as assigned.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans.
