The Senior Materials and Processes Engineer will support the space program located in Houston, TX. This role involves advising, guiding, and providing consultation on requirements for Materials & Processes (M&P) for intravehicular (IVA) and extravehicular (EVA) environments. Responsibilities include materials selection, process control and qualification, design for corrosion prevention, electrical bonding, flammability, toxic off gassing, and processes specification. The engineer will also assist in reviewing and developing hardware, analysis, operations, hazard reviews, anomaly resolution, requirements verification, re-flight assessments, and flight acceptance testing. Additionally, the role requires formulating and presenting to program boards, implementing M&P system requirements into hardware design, developing verification and validation plans, and ensuring appropriate materials requirements are incorporated into program/project specifications. The engineer will review project/program documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure M&P requirements are met for spaceflight hardware, assess vendor processes, and provide recommendations for qualification and acceptance testing. Support for inspection and manufacturing processes for human space flight systems is also a key part of this role.
