Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Failure analysis methodology experience
- Heat treatment control and verification experience

- Forging and grain flow evaluation experience
- Coating and corrosion awareness experience
- Independent problem solving
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Collaboration with design, quality, and manufacturing
Responsibilities
- Executes technical investigations and supports complex materials and manufacturing challenges for wheels & brakes structures.
- Leads metallurgical failure analysis involving cracking, fatigue, wear, and corrosion.
- Develops or refines metallic material specifications and heat‑treat process instructions.
- Supports supplier process evaluations, audits, and capability assessments.
- Supports development of improvements to materials, coatings, and corrosion prevention systems.
- Evaluates forging quality, grain flow, defects, and machining‑related anomalies.
