About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is seeking a Senior Material Handler to join their team in Germantown, MD. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the facility. Key duties include loading/unloading, inventory support, data entry into ERP systems, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving. The position also involves supporting process improvements, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in daily operations under general supervision. DRS RADA Technologies specializes in proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems for the defense industry, pioneering AESA tactical radar technology for various applications like active military protection, counter-drone operations, critical infrastructure security, and border surveillance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two or more years experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload and move materials within or near plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite.
  • Work with the team to improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals.
  • Maintain system critical data elements.
  • May monitor shipping performance to Delivery Tracking Schedule (DTS) and ensure movement of product from production through packaging to shipping.
  • Perform materials analysis and maintains records as required in support of cycle counting operations and performance measurement.
  • Read work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
  • Convey materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, Forklift, or other device.
  • Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system.
  • Attach tags or label to materials or otherwise marks information.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
  • Work under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.
