About The Position

The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world. DRS Marlo Coil manufactures robust heat transfer, refrigeration, and air handling equipment for industrial, commercial, utility and marine markets. Our custom engineered heat transfer solutions are used in a variety of configurations to cool, heat, and dehumidify air streams for process and building comfort. We pride ourselves on having equipment on most surface combatant ships and submarines in the U.S. Navy fleet. Additionally, DRS Marlo Coil is positioned for significant growth in the Industrial/Commercial markets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two or more years experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload and move materials within or near plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite.
  • Perform work in the East Shipping area, including packaging and crating materials, labeling units, and preparing spare parts and small parcels for shipment
  • Work with the team to improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals
  • Maintain system critical data elements
  • May monitor shipping performance to Delivery Tracking Schedule (DTS) and ensure movement of product from production through packaging to shipping
  • Perform materials analysis and maintains records as required in support of cycle counting operations and performance measurement
  • Read work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
  • Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
  • Load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools
  • Convey materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, Forklift, or other device
  • Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system
  • Attach tags or label to materials or otherwise marks information
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Work under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity
