About The Position

The Senior Master Scheduler plays a critical role in driving execution and delivery across the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) account and other high-profile North America PMO projects. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end development, integration, and performance monitoring of complex project and program schedules. Working closely with internal stakeholders, customers, subcontractors, and government program offices, the Senior Master Scheduler ensures all schedules strictly comply with contract requirements, Technical Performance Requirements (TPRs), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Contract Statements of Work (CSOW).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on project scheduling experience spanning both construction and software development projects across the public and private sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent practical experience in project controls, construction management, engineering, or related fields).
  • 5+ years of advanced experience with Primavera P6.
  • Proficiency with Motorola-standard and industry tools, including Planview Portfolios (Enterprise One), Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet.
  • Solid understanding of industry best practices and scheduling guidelines, including PASEG (NDIA Program Integrated Trip Guide), PMBOK (PMI), and related scheduling standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a proven track record of root cause analysis and schedule mitigation forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of translating complex schedule data into actionable insights for internal leadership, public sector clients, and subcontractors.
  • Deep knowledge of WBS architecture, baseline control, float management, and critical path methodology (CPM).
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
  • Experience in complex program scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Organize, implement, and maintain an enterprise scheduling management system supporting all assigned projects and program plans.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, contractors, and government program office personnel to define detailed tasks, durations, logical relationships, dependencies, and critical path networks.
  • Generate operational program schedules that adhere to Motorola Solutions' Sales to Service (S2S) delivery framework, comply with project financial accounting standards, and optimize business processes to maximize operational effectiveness across Mid Atlantic states and the broader North America Project Management Organization.
  • Collaborate with customers and subcontractors to establish, track, and manage program execution toward key milestones, critical path events, external/internal dependencies, and accomplishment criteria.
  • Evaluate ongoing schedule progress, logic relationships, float, and overall performance to proactively identify emerging bottlenecks, risks, and critical path issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly project schedule reviews, participate in monthly program reviews, and deliver detailed schedule and network analysis feedback.
  • Support and coordinate all schedule control issues in alignment with the Lead/Principal Master Scheduler.
  • Generate and translate weekly schedule performance reports and monthly cost performance reports for executive leadership to enable data-driven analysis and corrective action.
  • Perform detailed schedule analysis to generate Contract Variance Reports, incorporating Root Cause Analysis and Mitigation Forecasting to protect project timeline and scope integrity.
