About The Position

Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for a Senior Mass Properties Engineer. This is a Full-Time Contract position with a duration of 12 months, and it has the possibility of converting to a contract-to-hire role. The position is located in Greenville, TX. As a Senior Mass Properties Engineer, you will lead mass properties analyses, weight control activities, and reporting for major aircraft modifications using computer-aided design (CAD) tools, Microsoft Excel, and related engineering systems. You will calculate and estimate component weights, moment arms, and mass moments of inertia from engineering drawings, CAD models, vendor data, and aircraft records. Additionally, you will evaluate aircraft weight and balance impacts resulting from multiple concurrent modifications and develop aircraft mass distributions in support of loads development. You will also establish and maintain weight control plans, target allocations, and status reporting for weight-critical programs. The role involves preparing aircraft weight charts, inventories, and engineering reports that document analytical results and actual aircraft weighings. You will lead mass properties tasks across several contracts and coordinate with design, structural, loads, manufacturing, flight test, and certification stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, or Physics and a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mass properties, fixed-wing weight and balance analysis, and weight control for aircraft modification programs.
Experience leading complex technical tasks or project initiatives with minimal oversight and providing guidance to other engineers.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, plus experience using CAD models and engineering drawings to support mass properties analysis.
Able to travel to and from the flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments, including boarding and exiting aircraft when required.
DoD Secret security clearance.
This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) software or comparable mass properties tools.
Understanding of FAA and military weight and balance reporting requirements and airworthiness documentation.
Experience with aircraft weighing, inventory, and maintaining certified weight records.
Advanced skill in managing large data sets and automating calculations in Microsoft Excel.
