About The Position

The Senior Marketing Specialist serves as a strategic marketing partner for company-wide marketing and communication efforts. With a high level of professionalism and organizational skills, they regularly manage projects, organize teams, and motivate technical colleagues to meet deadlines. Key responsibilities include leading business development strategy and proposal production and deliverables for high-profile competitive pursuits nationwide, by evaluating, positioning for, and securing new business in alignment with the firm’s strategic plan and business goals. The Senior Marketing Specialist partners with technical staff to drive growth for specific market segments, disciplines, and/or geographic regions, as assigned. This position collaborates on the team's operations and management, managing processes and providing guidance, training, and leadership to other marketing staff. This position provides critical support to other key marketing team functions, including brand marketing/external communication and internal communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communication, or marketing.
  • 5 years of experience in marketing or related field—ideally in the Architecture/Engineering/Contracting (AEC) industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with organizing, editing, and preparing long documents.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe InDesign.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of initiative, effectively meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Relationship management skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships with technical staff at all levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to plan, multitask, and maintain an efficient approach to completing work and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with other Adobe Creative Suite applications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads business development efforts by helping technical staff position for opportunities, strategizing and preparing for proposal interviews/debrief sessions, advising on value proposition and strategy, and aligning messaging and outreach to drive growth, visibility, and long-term client relationships.
  • Responsible for evaluating new opportunities with technical staff to implement go/no-go decision-making process.
  • Autonomously manages the production of proposals, Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), cut sheets, staff resumes, and other competitive qualification materials that are persuasive, brand-consistent, and compliant.
  • Partners with technical staff to develop approach, writing and editing key proposal sections, leading final document preparation/design, and submitting final packages while maintaining strict adherence to proposal deadlines and submittal requirements—and proofing all documents for accuracy and quality.
  • Manages qualification-based opportunity intake, evaluation, and distribution to technical staff.
  • Monitors relevant contracting and bid platforms and maintains the company’s information and profile.
  • Owns the internal tracking system, managing pursuits from initial RFP/RFQ receipt to award or loss to ensure clear accountability, timelines, and coordination across pursuits.
  • Manages marketing and business development initiatives that align with the company’s multi-year strategic plan and annual business plans, driving revenue growth, strengthening client experience, and/or increasing brand recognition in coordination with technical leaders and marketing colleagues.
  • Develops ongoing knowledge of industry and market trends and utilizes this knowledge to determine and direct the most effective ways to meet business and client needs.
  • Orchestrates targeted research to inform pursuit strategy.
  • Works with discipline leaders to manage strategic and programmatic engagement with major clients.
  • Grows and maintains client/partner relationships and leverages relevant industry networks to foster new contacts and build collaborative and mutually beneficial connections.
  • Promotes GeoEngineers’ brand and services at industry events and conferences, participates in local agencies and organizations, and builds community and network connections to drive the firm’s pipeline of new business.
  • Analyzes pursuit performance and makes recommendations to strengthen future business development efforts.
  • Maintains GeoEngineers’ brand identity and strategy across all internal and external communications. This includes visual design standards, written voice and messaging, and consistent representation of GeoEngineers’ values, culture, and technical expertise.
  • Organizes technical staff presentations, technical papers, and other content.
  • Contributes to communication through www.geoengineers.com and official social media accounts as assigned, supports award applications and targeted campaigns as appropriate.
  • Contributes to GeoEngineers’ internal communication program, including local reporting and corporate communication, occasional message ownership and creation for standard channels, targeted internal campaigns to communicate a particular message to our staff, impact culture, craft a staff experience, or modify behavior.
