About The Position

As a Market Development Manager Sr – On Premise, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of our brands across key national on-premise accounts. You’ll partner closely with distributor teams and strategic customers to execute sales and marketing strategies that deliver measurable results. By building strong relationships and understanding the nuances of the marketplace, you will identify opportunities to grow distribution, optimize pricing, and elevate brand presence. In this dynamic role, you’ll leverage your expertise to influence high-value accounts, coach distributor partners, and ensure execution of monthly programs. You’ll strategically prioritize your time, focusing on opportunities that drive the greatest business impact while adapting your approach to meet the needs of the market. From analyzing performance data to identifying competitive insights, your ability to translate information into action will be key to success. You’ll also serve as a brand ambassador, representing our portfolio in the market and leading initiatives that strengthen engagement with customers and consumers. Whether it’s collaborating cross-functionally, supporting digital and e-Retail initiatives, or motivating distributor teams, you’ll help shape the future of our brands with an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of CPG sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire.
  • Motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving.
  • Obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire (if needed).
  • Obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
  • Required to travel by air and car in order to execute job functions.
  • Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings as part of job functions.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to travel by air and automobile up to 25% during the course of business.
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership, selling, time management, and public speaking skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Required to be 18 years or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Spirits Development Specialist Sr, Market Development Manager, Market Development Manager Sr, or Account Manager 1; OR Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of external alcohol sales experience to include on-premise experience.
  • Skilled communicator and ability to collaborate and influence external or cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience selling or marketing Gallo brands.
  • Skilled in anticipating future consequences and trends accurately, can create competitive strategies and plans.
