About The Position

This role is for a dedicated seller to expand the dealership's reach beyond its current physical location. The primary goal is to grow annual revenue from approximately $8-10 million to $14 million by building a strong book of buyers who return, trade up, and refer others. The position requires becoming a public face of the dealership, focusing on relationship-building and customer engagement rather than just price. The mission for the first twelve months is to establish a significant presence in the Shreveport-Bossier area, cultivate a loyal customer base, and turn existing service customers into new-boat buyers. The role involves actively participating in networking events, boat shows, and service intake to connect with potential buyers and maintain relationships long after the sale. The aim is to create a "recurring" stream of business through repeat purchases, trade-ins, and referrals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in relationship-based, high-ticket sales or business development, including self-generated business.
  • Genuine, lived participation in boating, fishing, hunting, or outdoor recreation that holds up to questioning from serious outdoorsmen.
  • Composure and credibility in high-dollar conversations with business owners, executives, and professionals.
  • Either an existing network in Shreveport-Bossier or a clear, credible plan and the drive to build one quickly.
  • Availability for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, boat shows, and customer calls outside business hours.
  • Disciplined follow-up and accurate record keeping in the dealership's CRM or sales system.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Build a written 30, 60, and 90 day market-development plan within the first 30 days, identifying specific people, organizations, and events to generate qualified buyers.
  • Establish a consistent prospecting and networking rhythm outside the dealership by day 90, measured by weekly growth in new contacts, appointments, and proposals.
  • Convert existing service customers into new-boat buyers by engaging during the weekly service intake process.
  • Close premium boat sales in the $50,000 to $250,000 range, including packaging electronics, batteries, and accessories.
  • Own every customer after the sale, building a book of repeat, trade-in, and referral business within 12 months.
  • Actively network and build relationships within the marine community and among potential buyers.
  • Live and authentically represent the boating, fishing, and outdoor lifestyle.
  • Focus sales conversations on the product, customer experience, and lifestyle rather than price.
  • Maintain customer relationships post-sale, ensuring customer satisfaction and encouraging future business.
  • Develop and execute creative networking and market development ideas with owner support.
  • Maintain disciplined follow-up and accurate record keeping in the dealership's CRM or sales system.
  • Be available for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and customer calls outside business hours.

Benefits

  • Performance-based package with the ability for a top performer to earn $180,000 or more annually.
  • Potential for a draw or base component, commission on gross profit, and performance incentives.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k.
