About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking Senior Manufacturing Training Center Workplace Integrators to join the St. Louis Manufacturing Training Center (MTC) located in Berkeley, Missouri. The St. Louis site is establishing a Manufacturing Training Center (MTC) for all new hire mechanics joining their Fighter Programs. The MTC's purpose is to build on the training new hire mechanics receive from the Apprenticeship program, further enhancing their learning in a safe, controlled environment. This aims to produce mechanics capable of executing tasks in the current production environment. The MTC will deliver a repetitive, experiential, hands-on approach to the practical application of Boeing's required fundamental skill set using integrated learning solutions. This includes spending half the day in a live production environment and the other half performing repetitive skills enhancement projects and learning production system tools and best practices. The company is investing in exposing new hires to lean manufacturing, moonshine, Safety Dojo, and advanced site capabilities to build their knowledge for problem-solving.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years’ experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
  • 5+ years’ experience working with or supporting military aircraft

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
  • Experience in a role that required organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, facilitate, and coordinate multiple projects
  • Experience with military aircraft maintenance and ramp operations
  • Previous knowledge / experience with LEAN

Responsibilities

  • Coach, teach and guide new hire mechanics as they perform work on the production line.
  • Provide oversight to ensure first-time quality is achieved in the build and drive behavior to enable Cost and Schedule
  • Provide feedback on each MTC participant that will allow for a customized approach in improving each individual mechanic and ensuring as they graduate the MTC they are competent in all Manufacturing and Safety processes & procedures
  • Leads complex group work sessions selecting and using advanced Lean principles, processes and tools to implement the Boeing Production System for internal or external customers
  • Conducts assessments of processes and practices for comparison to applicable standards and criteria
  • Analyzes and interprets data
  • Provides feedback on assessment results and identifies opportunities for improvement and potential areas of risk
  • Works with organizations to develop strategies, plans and metrics to achieve business objectives
  • Works at the appropriate level in the organization to implement strategies and plans.
