  • Minimum of an Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Expertise with various testing approaches: flying probe, ICT, boundary scan, RF, functional tests and the tools required (e.g., JTAG, spectrum analyzers), including their general costs and benefits.
  • Excellent understanding of the design requirements for implementation of various test techniques (i.e., DFM / DFT requirements).
  • Expertise with automation of various tests and/or assembly processes using appropriate fixturing and test software.
  • Highly experienced with Altium or other schematic capture and PCB layout CAD software.
  • Skilled with SolidWorks or other mechanical development CAD software.
  • Highly experienced with LabVIEW, C++, .NET or other software development languages.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and software quality principles and techniques.
  • Expert and effective at both verbal and written technical communication.
  • Capable of authoring various technical documentation templates.

  • Participate in design reviews for both products and manufacturing test processes.
  • Provide feedback to ensure new products are testable during manufacture.
  • Develop product requirements and support the development of product features that facilitate manufacturing tests.
  • Support Sustaining Engineering functions such as cost reduction, EOL mitigation, and root cause analysis of systemic failures.
  • Assist with the definition of department development processes.
  • Assist with the collection and reporting of performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify potential failure modes during volume manufacturing.
  • Provide Design For Manufacturability (DFT, DFA etc) feedback to the project development team and advocate for their inclusion.
  • Define requirements for production process flow, automated test software, and test fixtures.
  • Design production processes suitable for forecasted volumes and cost targets.
  • Identify risks to manufacturability, reliability, quality, and cost, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Define verification procedures for all production processes and fixtures.
  • Provide training and support to Operations stakeholders during product transition to production.
  • Identify improvement opportunities for products and processes related to manufacturability, longevity, reliability, quality, and cost, and develop implementation plans.
  • Support technical requests escalated to the ME group from other departments.
