About The Position

Agility Robotics is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing test infrastructure for robotic systems. The role focuses on electronics, embedded systems, and production test strategy, ensuring system performance, quality, reliability, and scalable production. The engineer will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a liaison among Design, Systems, Firmware, and Manufacturing teams. The position spans early product concept through high-volume production and is onsite at the company’s Salem office. The engineer will own manufacturing test systems and platforms for electrical, embedded, and control subsystems across product lines. Responsibilities include defining automated production test strategies, integrating DFT and DFM early in development, developing and sustaining test hardware and software, leading failure investigations and corrective actions, supporting NPI from EVT/DVT through production ramp, and maintaining test documentation and data systems. The role also involves ensuring alignment with internal quality systems and applicable industry standards. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least seven years of test design experience. The successful candidate will have experience developing complex mixed-signal manufacturing test solutions, test software, electronic circuits, test fixtures and production stations, and embedded-system tests. Python is preferred; transferable C++ skills are acceptable. Familiarity with Linux or RTOS systems, HIL testing, and protocols such as I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, and EtherCAT is expected. A master’s degree is preferred. Experience in safety-critical or regulated environments and robotics or highly integrated mechatronic systems is also preferred. This is an onsite role involving regular hands-on work with test equipment, circuit boards, and diagnostic tools in laboratory and production environments. Occasional walking, lifting equipment, and extended standing may be required. The anticipated base salary range is $126,000–$164,000 USD. Full-time employee benefits include a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match, stock options, company-paid insurance coverage, paid parental leave, paid time off and holidays, professional development and tuition reimbursement, relocation assistance for eligible roles, and an annual discretionary bonus for eligible roles. Additional on-site perks include catered lunches and snacks at Salem and Pittsburgh locations.
