Senior Manufacturing Operations Financial Analyst

LeidosHuntsville, AL
Hybrid

About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Financial Analyst to support high-priority defense manufacturing programs. This finance-led role connects FP&A discipline with manufacturing operations: forecasts, budgets, EACs, ETCs, variance analysis, and risk visibility. The Position involves a hybrid rhythm that combines focused analysis with meaningful time alongside the teams building the product to use finance to make manufacturing better, not just report what happened. You will work shoulder to shoulder with Manufacturing, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Engineering to turn shop-floor signals into practical recommendations that improve cost, schedule, throughput, margin, and delivery performance. Your analysis will help leaders make real production decisions on cost, schedule, throughput, and delivery. You will gain practical growth in forecasting, EAC/ETC discipline, manufacturing finance, Power BI, variance analysis, and executive-ready communication. This position is based in the Huntsville, AL area and offers flexible/hybrid work options, with purposeful on-site time tied to manufacturing collaboration, learning, and program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field and 8+ years of experience directly relevant to program financial control.
  • Forecasting, cost analysis, variance analysis, and financial modeling experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Power BI, database, or reporting tools.
  • Ability to connect manufacturing metrics to financial outcomes such as cost, margin, schedule, and delivery performance.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain trends, risks, and recommended actions to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • US citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, production, hardware delivery, or supply chain programs.

  • Experience using data visualization, automation, or direct cross-functional partnership to improve reporting speed, accuracy, and decision quality.

Responsibilities

  • Own budgets, forecasts, EACs, and ETCs for assigned manufacturing programs; keep assumptions current and make risks and opportunities visible.
  • Analyze labor efficiency, material usage, yield, scrap/rework, and throughput trends to explain cost, margin, schedule, and delivery impacts.
  • Investigate variances at the point of execution, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions before issues become larger program risks.
  • Partner with Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering to evaluate cost, capacity, labor, material, and schedule trade-offs.
  • Build dashboards, review packages, and briefings that turn data into clear decisions for program and operations leaders.
  • Support financial reviews, audits, and compliance with Leidos financial policies and manufacturing cost controls.
  • Lead or mentor junior analysts.
