About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at our Fayetteville, NC Eaton facility. Relocation assistance will be provided, if needed. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing focused Lean concepts in targeted operations that support the needs of the business which will improve productivity, achieve Cost Out, and reduce process scrap. In this position, you will drive continual improvement in overall product line operations performance through the application of sound engineering decisions, New Product Development Design Implementation Support, design for manufacturing, capital project execution, use six sigma for variation reduction, and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering, quality, or continuous improvement experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Fayetteville,NC.

Nice To Haves

  • Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software (Microsoft Office, ERP SAP, AS400, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with LEAN concepts/applications such as 5S+, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Experience with 8 Wastes walk/elimination and visual management, process checks and deviation tracking methodology.
  • Additional knowledge and/or experience leading projects, managing process changes, conducting analysis for root cause identification, and understanding how to identify problems and reach resolutions is beneficial.
  • MRP/ERP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations and achieve operational excellence.
  • Lead and support CI events such as VSM, 5S, Standard Work, and Rapid Improvement Events to achieve factory cost-out targets.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans for implementation of continuous improvement based upon lean assessment.
  • Lead and implement projects utilizing industry 4.0 technology.
  • Support the front end of the business and help drive process improvements.
  • Collaborate with MOL and ProLaunch teams to facilitate designs for manufacturing events.
  • Assist in training and development of personnel by mentoring team members, team leads, and facilitators for projects.
  • Support Manufacturing Change Notices (MCN) for your area.
  • Support the deployment of ELSS/CIF tools in the manufacturing facility.
  • Support other key plant processes and provide cross-functional support as directed.
  • Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, tooling, processes and systems to obtain optimum cost and quality manufacturability.
