About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design, and optimize manufacturing processes, with the potential to supervise both the production workflows and personnel. This role involves independently analyzing production processes and equipment for improvement opportunities, developing project proposals, and executing them to completion. The engineer will also develop and implement process control techniques, analyze manufacturing process flows for enhancements in quality, cost reduction, and throughput, and estimate staffing requirements and production times. Collaboration with Production Supervisors for employee training, support of company policies, FDA regulations, and good manufacturing practices are key aspects. The position is responsible for planning and executing production improvement projects from concept to implementation, analyzing new products for manufacturability, maintaining assembly documentation and production routings, and planning/executing testing for assembly processes and tooling. Compliance with performance, regulatory, and safety standards, documenting performed tasks, presenting manufacturing-related designs, troubleshooting production floor issues, and training operators are also essential functions.

Requirements

• Strong technical understanding of mechanics, and electromechanical equipment, with ability to troubleshoot, determine root cause, develop and implement corrective actions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or similar Engineering required.
• 7 plus years’ experience in a manufacturing or equipment engineering position at a production facility.
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing and systems processes.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in business and/or manufacturing related engineering field is a plus.
• Experience or certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyze production processes and equipment for improvement opportunities utilizing their expertise in the engineering discipline.
• Develop project proposals and execute the project to completion.
• Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
• Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
• Estimating staffing requirements and production times for operational decisions.
• Work closely with the Production Supervisors to develop, coordinate, and implement employee training.
• Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, FDA regulations, and good manufacturing practices.
• Handle customer complaints and failure reports.
• Responsible for planning and executing production improvement projects from concept to implementation, including component design and system design review.
• Responsible for analysis of new products or design concepts for manufacturability and presentation of the analysis with recommendations and possible solutions.
• Responsible for maintaining assembly documentation and production routings.
• Plan and execute testing to assure adequate performance of assembly processes and tooling.
• Responsible for compliance of manufacturing processes to performance, regulatory, and safety standards.
• Responsible for documenting performed tasks including project descriptions, technical specifications, testing data and implementation notes.
• Responsible for the clear presentation of manufacturing-related designs or processes at design review meetings.
• Responsible for troubleshooting production floor issues and implementing corrective actions. This may include tooling or fixture design changes or collaboration with R&D on product design changes.
• Responsible for training manufacturing operators on new or revised manufacturing process instructions or tooling.
• Demonstrate competency with the company’s internal systems (ECO’s, IS, MRP and CAD software etc.).
