About The Position

The Industrialization team is responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing standards for developing and industrializing manufacturing processes using a team-based approach. This role sits within the Industrialization team and will lead equipment specification, builds, programming, and work closely with process development to build machines around a process. The role will also work closely with the maintenance team to develop long-term professional maintenance procedures. Additionally, the role will be key in integrating part movement solutions into, out of, and between new and existing equipment, and will support building quality into the process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 6 additional years of experience in Production Process and Equipment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work off-shift or flexible schedule at times as required by project timelines.
  • Ability and desire to work on site in a manufacturing environment.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • This position is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Greenville, SC Garlington Road location.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy and roadmap initiatives.
  • Execute hand offs for new product introductions, part and technology transfers, new process introductions, and strategic plant and equipment investments; inclusive of lead time, technology selection, tooling, fixturing, programming, quality plan, and run-off of initial production sets.
  • Execute hands-on development of new products and processes enabling a successful hand-off to the production team.
  • Manage project timelines to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety, process quality, qualifications, and Lean.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers across teams.
  • Strong ability to identify and eliminate waste while coaching others.
  • Engineering, standardizing, and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in productivity efforts supporting cost competitiveness.
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles into process development.
  • Utilize kaizen activities for continuous improvement and collaborate with wider team on breakthrough initiatives.
