About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead manufacturing process development and production launch activities, supporting new product introduction and manufacturing launch initiatives involving robotic automation and production process development. The role includes developing manufacturing methods, validating equipment readiness, coordinating production implementation, and ensuring processes meet safety, quality, efficiency, and operational requirements. The engineer will apply hands-on FANUC HandlingTool or ArcTool expertise to support robotic manufacturing applications, optimize equipment, and troubleshoot production issues. The position also involves interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and product specifications; developing production layouts, tooling, equipment configurations, and workflows; and driving improvements in throughput, cycle times, reliability, waste, and defects. The role partners with production, quality, maintenance, engineering teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners. It includes establishing standardized procedures and process documentation, coordinating project milestones and deliverables, and providing technical guidance to engineering and operations teams. The position is 100% onsite in Columbus, Indiana, and is a 12-month W2 contract with potential extension. The schedule rotates every six months: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM for the first six months, then Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–12:00 AM for the second six months, with some scheduling flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including manufacturing process development, equipment integration, or production optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with FANUC HandlingTool or ArcTool in industrial robotic applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation, with the ability to translate technical specifications into manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting production launches, new product introductions, manufacturing readiness, or equipment implementation.
  • Ability to develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, workstations, and equipment configurations.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing safety, ergonomics, quality standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, analyzing production issues, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and technical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to lead manufacturing initiatives, coordinate project deliverables, and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to work fully onsite in Columbus, Indiana, and follow the required six-month day/evening shift rotation.
