About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer serves as the primary engineering authority for manufacturing operations and is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and supporting manufacturing processes, methods, and standards across the facility. This role provides technical leadership and serves as the final engineering decision-maker for manufacturing methods, tooling, production requirements, and engineering support activities. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on technical leader who provides engineering direction to production teams and ensures manufacturing processes are safe, repeatable, documented, and aligned with company standards. This individual must be comfortable making sound technical decisions, resolving complex manufacturing challenges, and collaborating across departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position develops and supports manufacturing methods that enable safe, reliable, and cost-effective production while leading Manufacturing Engineers in the execution of manufacturing engineering activities, production support, and new product introductions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Knowledge of material handling, manufacturing equipment, assembly processes, tooling, jig, and fixture design.
  • Knowledge of common casting types and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 processes and procedures, including implementation and audits.
  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) manufacturing systems.
  • Computer experience including 3D modeling, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Experienced in root cause analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with manufacturing automation, robotics, or advanced production equipment.
  • Experience with product launches and manufacturing transfers.
  • Experience supporting engineering change processes and document control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary engineering authority for manufacturing process decisions, ensuring engineering standards and requirements are consistently applied throughout production.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to production by establishing standardized manufacturing methods, work instructions, and production requirements.
  • Lead and mentor Manufacturing Engineers responsible for developing, documenting, and supporting manufacturing processes.
  • Establish manufacturing methods, process documentation, work instructions, Bills of Material, routers, and engineering drawings that support production requirements.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate, controlled, and properly implemented on the production floor.
  • Develop manufacturing strategies including make-versus-buy analysis, workflow requirements, facility layout considerations, tooling selection, and capital equipment recommendations.
  • Partner with New Product Development Engineering to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability and successfully transitioned into production.
  • Provide engineering support for production issues by investigating technical concerns, determining root causes, and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve manufacturing challenges while maintaining engineering standards.
  • Support manufacturing cost objectives through effective engineering methods, tooling selection, equipment recommendations, and production process design.
  • Review and approve manufacturing changes to ensure proper engineering evaluation, documentation, and implementation.
  • Ensure engineering changes are properly communicated and incorporated into manufacturing documentation and production processes.
  • Support quality initiatives by providing manufacturing engineering expertise related to product requirements, process capability, and production controls.
  • Make timely, well-supported technical decisions that balance safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Foster accountability by ensuring manufacturing processes and engineering standards are followed throughout production.
  • Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.
  • Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality.
