About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role leads complex engineering projects, supports new product introductions, develops manufacturing standards, and mentors engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Five or more years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience working in high-volume and/or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and resolve complex problems.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and other business systems and applications.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships across the organization, engage with employees on the manufacturing floor, and interact professionally with customers when needed.
  • Strong follow-up, execution, and accountability skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP/MES systems and CAD software preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Financial acumen with experience developing capital justifications and driving cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and implement productivity, quality, and cost improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), capacity expansion efforts, and production transfers.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and cycle times.
  • Design, develop, and validate tooling, fixtures, workstations, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Partner with Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Product Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges using root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Manage capital projects, including equipment selection, installation, validation, budget management, and implementation.
  • Support internal and external audits as well as continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S programs.
  • Support Short Interval Management (SIM) as a key team member by demonstrating leadership, responsiveness, effective communication, and collaboration to resolve issues and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Mentor and support engineers and team members, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous development.
