About The Position

Anduril’s Sentry Manufacturing team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help rapidly iterate and build defense hardware, including static equipment and moving ground equipment, for force protection and counter-UAS support. The role covers the manufacturing value chain, including design for manufacturability, tooling, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and manufacturing documentation. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead new electromechanical products from introduction into production through high-volume, sustained manufacturing; improve existing lines and processes; and own significant portions of the manufacturing value chain. The role also includes commissioning new systems and equipment, implementing automation, developing process flows and production documentation, and working with contract manufacturers and suppliers to establish reliable, high-yield production. As the primary technical owner for assigned product lines, this person connects design engineering, quality, production operations, software, and program management, and maintains product lifecycle data, including bills of material and configuration changes.

Requirements

  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, or a hard science.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating large or high-complexity assemblies or subassemblies.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with configuration management and change control processes, including CCB, E&O, and effectivity dates.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated success scaling product testing and production from tens or hundreds of units to hundreds or thousands.
  • Hands-on experience with software and firmware flashing or end-of-line testing and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to develop, execute, and manage high-fidelity automated test procedures at component and system levels.
  • Experience with large-scale, high-mix manufacturing at different stages of product maturity.
  • Experience with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), Oracle (ERP), or equivalents.
  • Familiarity with establishing test ecosystems that de-risk hardware and meet target reliability levels.
  • Experience with large bills of material and ownership of multiple products or configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transition of new electromechanical products from NPI to high-volume, sustained production, including DFM/DFA and scalable supply chain processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of production lines and manufacturing processes to resolve issues, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and raise product quality.
  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes across significant portions of the manufacturing value chain.
  • Lead installation, commissioning, and validation projects for new manufacturing systems and equipment, and communicate their impact to stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement automation solutions and integrated workflows to improve manufacturing efficiency, repeatability, and capacity.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing process flows, subassemblies, and subprocesses to optimize production and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, quality control plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Partner with and manage contract manufacturers across disciplines such as PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, and final assembly to establish repeatable, high-yield processes and support on-time delivery.
  • Travel to suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve production issues, audit processes, implement quality controls, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide DFM and DFA feedback to engineering teams to improve production efficiency, cost, quality, and reliability.
  • Serve as the primary technical owner for assigned product lines and coordinate across Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production Operations, Software, and Program Management.
  • Manage PLM data, including BOM ownership, configuration management, and change control in systems such as Teamcenter.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of total compensation.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as comprehensive and competitive and available at little to no cost to employees.
