  • Demonstrated experience improving manufacturing processes and leading cross-functional improvements from problem identification through implementation.
  • Practical experience applying Lean manufacturing and structured problem-solving methods in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process development, production support, work instructions, standard work, and process documentation.
  • Knowledge of process observation, waste identification, root-cause problem solving, and implementation of practical countermeasures.
  • Knowledge of workstation and layout design, material flow, line balancing, labor analysis, time studies, and capacity improvement.
  • Knowledge of setup and changeover reduction, cycle-time reduction, scrap and rework reduction, and throughput improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively on the shop floor and build cooperation with operators, supervisors, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Ability to use data and direct observation to establish priorities, measure results, and communicate recommendations.
  • Hands-on manufacturing knowledge, sound engineering judgment, disciplined problem solving, project ownership, follow-through, adaptability, clear communication, and ability to teach practical methods.
  • Ability to meet physical and work-environment demands that may include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, and working around manufacturing equipment and normal manufacturing noise and process conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of manufacturing engineering or closely related industrial experience.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous-improvement training or certification; demonstrated application may substitute for formal certification.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and reduce bottlenecks, non-value-added work, and barriers to safe and effective production through shop-floor observation and engagement.
  • Improve material flow, line balance, labor utilization, setup and changeover time, cycle time, scrap, rework, and throughput using practical Lean and problem-solving methods.
  • Lead improvements through testing, implementation, documentation, training, and follow-up, collaborating with operators and cross-functional partners to create sustainable solutions.
  • Develop, document, and improve manufacturing methods, work instructions, standard work, process routings, workstations, layouts, fixtures, tooling, and material presentation.
  • Provide hands-on production-floor support and improve production readiness for new or changed products and processes through direct observation, technical analysis, and collaboration.
