Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes for precision opto-electronic components employing state-of-the-art microwave and fiber-optic technologies. Hands-on work in a low volume and high mix assembly and test environment. Support wafer back-end processing and chip-on-carrier assembly. Improve manufacturing processes using Lean Manufacturing techniques. Implement statistical process controls and perform analysis using software tools such as Minitab. Streamline processes and eliminate waste by utilizing value engineering, cost saving ideas and failure root cause analysis. Collaborate with Product Development to launch new products into the manufacturing line. Draft changes to enhance product quality, improve yield and manufacturability, eliminate variation, and reduce cost. Design and implement assembly fixtures, jigs, and test setups used in production. Review the ergonomics and safety of the production area and the material condition of existing fixtures. Lead moderately complex equipment installations and qualifications. Implement equipment PM schedules. Perform or coordinate corrective maintenance efforts on equipment as required. Create product documentation inputs and updates using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint software. Use Agile system to submit Engineering Change Orders and new manufacturing procedures and other documentation. Lead Kaizen teams ·and activities in support of Lean Manufacturing efforts. Train production employees in manufacturing processes and the operation of equipment. Support AS9100 Quality System. Conducts risk assessments on equipment. Travel up to 5% of the time is required.
