About The Position

As a member of the Process Industrialization team, and as the Technical Leader for Assembly Process Development, you will be an active contributor to create, maintain, and execute the standard in how to develop and industrialize manufacturing processes using a team-based approach. This role sits within the Process Industrialization team and will lead new manufacturing process development. The focus will be developing and driving a standard, strategic, agile, but detailed approach to process development. Ensuring best practices are known, maintained, accessible, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • OR High School Diploma / GED with 10+ years of equivalent experience AND Minimum of 8 additional years of experience in Production Process and Equipment (e.g., Gas Turbines, Aerospace, Steel Manufacturing, or Heavy Industrial).
  • Ability and desire to work on site in a manufacturing environment.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manufacturing process development, implementation and qualification across rotor assembly (including torquing, balancing tensioning, induction heating, rotor lathe, grind), and other applications as required.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy and roadmap initiatives.
  • Execute hands-on development of new products and processes enabling a successful hand-off to the production team.
  • Manage development iterations to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety, process quality, and internal customer needs.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers across teams.
  • Strong ability to identify and eliminate waste while coaching others.
  • Engineering, standardizing, and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles into process development.
  • Utilize kaizen activities for continuous improvement and collaborate with wider team on breakthrough initiatives.
