About The Position

CACI is looking to hire a Manufacturing Operations Manager to join their growing Advanced RF program in Melbourne, FL. This team designs, develops, and tests complex PCB and PCBAs that are deployed in RF systems used by the Navy. The Manufacturing Operations Manager will play a critical role in the oversight and manufacturing of these complex PCBs and PCBAs. This individual will work with design engineering, production operations, and various suppliers, to include PCB fab houses and assembly houses/contract manufacturers (CMs) to ensure manufacturing success from new product design to full rate production.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in college or technical school in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 10 years or equivalent combination of education and experience of working in working experience in Optics Manufacturing, RF Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar industrial field.
  • Knowledge of process control for complex RF-mechanical and electro-optical assembly.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Experience with circuit board SMT line equipment.
  • Ability to review and understand DFM analysis and develop processes to mitigate design challenges/issues.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) framework as it relates to manufacturing operations e.g. BOM prep/load, part numbers, manufacturing work instructions, routers, process and time standards, which includes sequences of fabrication, assembly, installation, etc.
  • Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills and ability to work independently and jointly on problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work well in team environment with people at all levels.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with or at an electronics CM and/or PCB fab house.
  • Knowledge of MIL/IPC workmanship and performance standards related to electronic assemblies IPC-610, IPC-620, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-883, NASA Spec.

Responsibilities

  • Management of direct engineering reports.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate across functional departments to ensure an efficient transition of hardware through the factory.
  • Technically audit PCB fab houses and CMs to assess their suitability for various jobs and to correct problems.
  • Work with design engineering and CM teams to develop custom manufacturing processes for building complex boards during the new product introduction process, including Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis.
  • Eliminate waste, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, resulting in improved efficiency, lead time reductions, and process improvements
  • Monitor failure trends and quality defects and drive resolutions that achieve a “zero” defect culture with no escapes to our customers
  • Evaluate PCBs and PCBAs for acceptance or rejection on the basis of applicable ISO standards with the aim of using this information to make and track process improvement.
  • Analyze product line operations (daily, weekly, monthly) and initiate timely corrective actions to ensure efficient production flow and achievement of product line goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and direct reports on reading and interpretation of Engineering drawings, finished prints, specifications, and schematics for proper application to production processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation of various sorts, including but not limited to the circuit board assembly process.
