Senior, Manual QA Test Lead (P&C Insurance ONLY)
About The Position
Seeking a detail-oriented Senior Manual QA Analyst with strong Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance experience to join a technology team supporting underwriting and insurance platforms. The role focuses primarily on manual testing (90%), with limited exposure to test automation (10%), to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of business-critical applications and APIs. The position is a contract role based in Edison, New Jersey, with a hybrid workplace. The pay range is $50.00–$75.00 per hour. The anticipated application deadline is October 22, 2026. The role involves hands-on testing of insurance systems in an Agile environment and use of Azure DevOps (ADO) and Postman. Playwright experience is highly desirable. Requirements
- At least 3 years of Quality Assurance or software testing experience.
- Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance experience.
- Strong manual software testing background; manual testing comprises 90% of the role.
- Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and validation.
- Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management, defect tracking, and Agile project delivery.
- Experience testing underwriting platforms, policy administration systems, rating systems, or other insurance technology applications.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, the software testing lifecycle, and defect management processes.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Playwright automation testing.
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks and scripting.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Understanding of underwriting operations and policy lifecycle workflows within P&C insurance.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
- Validate business workflows across underwriting, policy administration, and insurance-related applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing.
- Test REST APIs using Postman, including request validation, response verification, and data integrity checks.
- Create, track, and manage defects in Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and QA team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Support automation initiatives and contribute to automated testing when applicable.
- Analyze requirements and user stories to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Document testing results and communicate quality risks and release readiness.
