About The Position

JHub is UJA’s subsidiary agency at the forefront of creating exceptional and meaningful Jewish & Israel experiences. With a diverse portfolio of programming for all ages, JHub strengthens lifelong Jewish connection, shapes strong identities, and inspires a sense of belonging. The Senior Manager of Young Adult Engagement leads the strategy and manages implementation of JHub’s young adult engagement portfolio, creating meaningful pathways for Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s to connect with Jewish life, Israel, and the broader Toronto Jewish community. With a focus on reaching both engaged and under-engaged young adults, this role builds sustained relationships and creates opportunities for belonging, leadership, volunteerism, professional growth, and deeper communal involvement.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in education, nonprofit management, Jewish studies or a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in Jewish educational programming
  • Familiarity with the Toronto Jewish Community and strong understanding of Israel and Israeli culture
  • Ability to work off-hours as required, including evenings or weekends.
  • Proven experience creating and directly overseeing budgets
  • Knowledge of marketing planning, with an emphasis on social media and the use of influencers.
  • Proficiency utilizing CRM systems and data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with young adults and lay leaders.
  • Proactive with excellent organizational, prioritizing and time-management skills.
  • A self-starter able to leverage knowledge and skills to manage complex programs from start to finish.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to deliver results.
  • An ability to think strategically and critically.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, innovation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities in young adult Jewish and Israel engagement, and lead the design of a comprehensive, year-round young adult engagement strategy.
  • Serve as a lead member of a JHub “pod” focused on Jewish young adult programming, collaborating closely with the pod team and external stakeholders to ensure ongoing management and implementation of the young adult strategy.
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets and success metrics to track and evaluate engagement outcomes.
  • Cultivate authentic relationships with young adults and incorporate their voices, interests, and evolving needs into program and strategy development.
  • Supervise interns, contractors, and volunteers supporting engagement programming, providing mentorship, professional development, and accountability to ensure program excellence. Mentor alumni leaders to develop the skills to take on meaningful roles within the community.
  • Oversee and manage implementation of a year-round calendar of signature events, experiences, and young adult leadership initiatives that strengthen young adults’ connection to Jewish life, Israel, and the Toronto Jewish community while remaining relevant, responsive and innovative. Develop differentiated engagement approaches based on age, life stage, interests, and current level of Jewish communal involvement.
  • Design intentional engagement journeys that move young adults from initial participation toward sustained involvement, volunteerism, leadership, and deeper connection with Jewish communal life.
  • Position JHub as a connector within Toronto’s young adult Jewish ecosystem, developing strong referral pathways between JHub and community partners. Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with key organizations serving young adults across the GTA to expose young adults to a full range of community opportunities to create seamless transitions between experiences
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Toronto Birthright Onward Israel program including recruitment, candidate interviews, internship placement coordination, participant communication, and collaboration with UIA and Onward’s Israel-based teams to ensure exceptional on-the-ground programming.
  • Act as the primary JHub liaison for Birthright Israel’s 10-day Toronto community trips, cultivating relationships with trip leaders and participants, and advancing complementary Israel education initiatives.
  • In close collaboration with the JHub marketing team, lead young adult communications including newsletters, email marketing, and social media strategy to build an integrated and high-impact digital connection for young adult engagement
  • Lead promotion and recruitment for experiences for young adults including Birthright Onward Israel and work with JHub team to actively recruit for Birthright Volunteer trips, Masa programs, OneTable, March of the Living Young Adult program, etc.
  • Develop a centralized approach to participant tracking, capturing engagement levels, attendance, referrals, volunteer and leadership involvement, and movement between JHub and partner opportunities.
  • Leverage insights from digital analytics, event participation, and alumni surveys to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement
