About The Position

We are hiring a Sr. Manager, Workday HCM to lead our Workday ecosystem and oversee a small, high-impact team responsible for delivering a stable, scalable, and continuously improving platform. This role blends hands-on configuration with technical leadership, roadmap influence, and cross-functional partnership across HR, Finance, Payroll, and IT. The ideal candidate has deep functional configuration expertise across multiple Workday modules, experience mentoring or leading Workday practitioners, and a strong ability to translate business needs into scalable, best-practice solutions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience across multiple modules.
  • Strong Workday Payroll experience
  • Strong configuration skills and deep understanding of Workday architecture.
  • Experience in operating across multiple regions
  • Experience leading or mentoring Workday practitioners or SMEs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong reporting skills and knowledge of Workday data structures.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, global environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with integrations, security, auditing, or SOX/SOD frameworks.
  • Experience in a matrixed or global company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a Workday team (Manager + Analyst), setting standards for quality and execution.
  • Serve as the Workday design authority across HCM modules, ensuring scalable and compliant architecture.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and recommend system solutions.
  • Oversee day-to-day Workday operations across Core HCM, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, Time Tracking, and related integrations.
  • Configure business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, alerts, and functional updates.
  • Ensure data integrity through proactive audits, validation routines, and governance standards.
  • Lead change management from requirements → solution design → testing → deployment.
  • Own Workday release management: assess new features, coordinate testing, and recommend adoption.
  • Maintain clear configuration documentation and support auditing and SOX/SOD requirements.
  • Serve as the Workday SME for HR Partners, People Operations, Talent, and Finance.
  • Build job aids, training, and documentation to improve adoption and reduce recurring issues.
  • Support reporting needs through Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and improve user experience.
  • Recommend scalable enhancements aligned to global HR processes and business growth.
  • Collaborate with People Operations and People Partners to harmonize workflows and improve system usability.
