BDO Canada's Montreal office is seeking a Senior Manager to join our U.S. Corporate Tax Services team. Requirements

  • Completed a professional designation (BCL, LLB, LLM, CPA)
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in the public accounting industry
  • A minimum of three years of experience and expertise in a U.S. corporate tax management role
  • Client service focused with the ability to train a team
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Bilingualism (French and English) Required: Due to the frequent and complex contact with our English-speaking partners and clients in Quebec and outside of Quebec, and the need to draft documents in English, knowledge of English is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide both technical and project management leadership to team members for U.S. Corporate Tax planning projects or assignments
  • U.S. Corporate Tax planning assignments and projects typically involve providing advice to optimize clients' tax savings in the context of on-off Canada-U.S. cross border transactions, ongoing effective tax rate management, etc.
  • Apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to clients' businesses
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of presentation materials and written publications
  • Provide leadership to the group's administrative processes
  • Responsible for tax research (including reviewing research for junior staff) on U.S. issues
  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team
