About The Position

Collins Test Solutions Engineering (CTSE) is seeking a Mission Systems Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 12–15 software, systems, and hardware test engineers. The team designs and develops test solutions for deployment to engineering and production facilities. The role is based onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The manager provides leadership and guidance to engineers, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, career development, salary planning, recognition, and performance management. The position also identifies staffing, facilities, and equipment needed to execute projects successfully and oversees project management activities. The role is accountable for adherence to capital and operating budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements, as well as planning and budgeting for test equipment acquisition. Rare occasional domestic and international travel may be expected. An active, existing Secret clearance is required after the first day; U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Requirements

Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. government security clearance; an active and existing clearance is required after day one. U.S. citizenship is required.
Typically, a STEM degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and at least 7 years of experience.
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Experience in a leadership role.
Experience presenting to leadership and peers.
Experience in project management.

Advanced degree in a STEM discipline; ABET accreditation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 12–15 software, systems, and hardware test engineers designing and developing test solutions for engineering and production facilities.
Provide leadership and guidance, hire and mentor new engineers, deliver performance reviews, coach employees, assist with career development, plan salaries, recognize and reward individuals, and manage staff performance as needed.
Identify the staff, facilities, and equipment required for successful project execution.
Manage projects and ensure adherence to capital and operating budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
Plan and budget for the acquisition of test equipment.
Occasionally travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
