Play an integral role in shaping how construction projects are planned, executed, and delivered across Worley’s global portfolio. As Senior Manager, Construction Technical Services, you will provide strategic leadership, technical direction, and operational oversight for construction support functions that enable safe, efficient, and predictable project execution. This role serves as a key link between project delivery teams, construction leadership, engineering, project controls, procurement, and customers to ensure technical services capabilities align with business objectives and project needs. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, workforce development, and the successful implementation of construction execution strategies across multiple projects and locations. The Senior Manager, Construction Technical Services plays a critical role in this journey by leading the technical services functions that support successful project delivery and construction execution. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for construction technical services, ensuring alignment with broader organizational initiatives, customer expectations, and business objectives. The role is responsible for developing tactical implementation plans, supporting organizational change, improving project execution capabilities, and enabling construction teams to achieve safe, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Typically 15+ years of relevant experience, including leadership, project management, construction, engineering, or technical services responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical, construction, engineering, project execution, or operational support functions within EPC, industrial construction, energy, chemicals, mining, infrastructure, or major capital project environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction execution methodologies, project delivery systems, project controls, risk management, and operational excellence principles.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical initiatives that support business and project objectives.
  • Experience leading organizational change, workforce development, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions to complex business and project challenges.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project performance drivers, construction economics, and operational risk management.
  • Demonstrated success managing teams through supervisors, technical specialists, and project leaders.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders, customers, and project teams through technical expertise and sound business judgment.
  • Advanced knowledge of systems, technologies, work processes, and tools supporting construction execution and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Leading construction technical services teams and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, project priorities, and customer requirements.
  • Developing and implementing operational strategies that enhance construction execution, productivity, quality, and project delivery performance.
  • Establishing tactical plans and implementation programs that support broader business objectives and organizational initiatives.
  • Providing leadership and technical oversight for construction planning, field engineering, workface planning, project execution support, and related technical service functions.
  • Collaborating with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to optimize project execution strategies.
  • Supporting major projects and programs by identifying risks, developing solutions, and implementing performance improvement initiatives.
  • Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes, tools, methodologies, and work practices that enhance project outcomes.
  • Providing technical consultation and guidance to project teams, functional leaders, and senior management.
  • Leading organizational change initiatives that improve operational effectiveness and construction performance.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators and operational metrics to evaluate efficiency, productivity, and business results.
  • Supporting workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and capability-building initiatives within the Construction Technical Services function.
  • Reviewing and approving technical recommendations, project execution plans, methodologies, and implementation strategies.
  • Managing budgets, resources, priorities, and workloads across multiple projects and functional assignments.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Supporting proposal development, business planning, customer engagement, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Representing Construction Technical Services in leadership discussions and presenting recommendations, analyses, and proposals to senior management and key stakeholders.
