About The Position

The team is responsible for the development of Industry advocacy solutions, the roll-out of global standards policies and initiatives related to aircraft Technical Operations and Supply Chain. This is a multidisciplinary role involving high levels or cross-functional coordination with the other members of the department, and on which you will have opportunities to develop your profile and lead through different areas of expertise. All members of the team work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders (such as the International Civil Aviation Organization) and other international actors of the industry.

Requirements

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 12 years of relevant experience for the role, including as a manager in an airline on a relevant domain, such as engineering, procurement and contracts, vendors and/or materials management.
  • Ideally a dual career experience complementing a previous airline role, from a MRO organisation, OEM, Leasing Company, etc..
  • Curiosity, good analytical skills and a strategic mindset., and a drive to innovate through impactful Industry programs for the benefit of the IATA airline members.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, presentations and written communications skills in English, with the ability to lead on Industry workshops and conferences to represent the department’s programs, with airlines members, and other actors of the eco-system.
  • A team player with a growth mindset, strong cross-functional and collaborative approach, for within and outside the department.
  • Willingness to rotate your domain leadership across the various areas of the department. Motivation to develop new fields of expertise from those other areas (example: Airworthiness Regulations).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with the relevant regulatory frameworks from FAA and EASA Part 145 and Part 21, as well as with aircraft maintenance documentation (MPD, AMM, CMMs, etc..).
  • Familiarity with aircraft product support frameworks from a previous airline role, as well as with aircraft and engines systems (e.g: aircraft general familiarization course certificates)
  • Authoring and negotiation of technical contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Work on Supply Chain and Technical Operations programs at IATA, development of initiatives, standards and solutions-based advocacy, to provide tangible and impactful support to IATA’s airline members.
  • Provide senior expertise as required to ensure that our members needs are represented in terms of supply chain, sustainability, technical operations, and other airline/aircraft data centric programs.
  • Represent the department’s programs on Industry workshops and conferences, with airline members and other actors of our eco-system (MROs, OEMs. Lessors, Parts Distributors, Design Organization Approvals, etc...).
  • Actively lead on the co-development the IATA MRO SmartHub advocacy platform to provide efficient supply chain operational guidance to IATA’s airlines members. This includes the management of new programs and industry cooperation to foster the aviation supply chain ecosystem within IATA.
  • Support all IATA advocacy requirements including work engagements with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Coordination Council of Aerospace Industry Associations (ICCAIA), OEMs, MROs, Lessors, other Industry associations, EASA/FAA, etc.
  • Fulfill the Secretary role of assigned Working Groups, which may also include the IATA Technical Operations Working Group itself.
  • Identify and drive new initiatives enhancing efficiency, and sustainability for the benefit of our members and the other areas of IATA (such as Training, Publications, Consulting, Events, etc..).
  • Collaborate actively with the other members of the department to ensure continuous sharing of expertise and knowledge across the department. Train the other team members in your core expertise. This also enable that certain Taskforce and other Working Groups activities may be delegated under your supervision to other team members.
  • Support the Head Aviation Supply Chain (including acting under their delegation towards the IATA Councils and standing in for them during brief absences) in ensuring the efficient running of the Technical Operations and Supply Chain area, and through any new program assignments which may subsequently arise.
