About The Position

Fluidstack is seeking a Senior Manager, Tax - VAT to own indirect tax globally, including VAT, GST, and sales and use tax across a multi-entity, multi-country footprint. This role involves building compliance processes from the ground up, including registrations, filings, and reclaim processes in every jurisdiction where Fluidstack builds. The position will also advise on transaction structuring, equipment imports, cross-border services, and intercompany flows before invoices are issued, and automate determination and filing processes to ensure compliance scales with entities, not headcount. The Accounting Team at Fluidstack is responsible for building financial infrastructure from the ground up using systems like NetSuite, Zip, Shareworks, and Pigment, and standing up a lean finance organization for a fast-growing data center hyperscaler, owning the full stack from vendor invoice to cap table.

Requirements

Owned VAT or indirect tax for a multinational, in-house or in advisory.
Stood up registrations and filings in new countries under deadline.
Recovered material VAT through reclaim processes you built.
Provide answers to business teams before the transaction, not corrections after.
Work with systems: tax engines, ERP tax codes, and e-invoicing mandates.

Nice To Haves

US sales and use tax on data center equipment.
EU and UK VAT depth.
Experience with Avalara or Vertex.
Understanding of customs interplay.
