About The Position

This opportunity is for an innovative Senior Manager, Talent Management and Board Governance with a passion for collaboration and a focus on creating and implementing people-centric solutions. The role is part of a team focused on identifying and developing leaders to enable RBC’s winning culture. The team develops and delivers enterprise leadership strategies, leads the execution and advancement of RBC’s talent practices, delivers enterprise leadership development programs, and supports executive coaching and development. The Senior Manager will report to the Director, Talent Management & Board Governance and will be responsible for leading key talent management programs, in line with the broader leadership strategy. This role requires seamless work between strategic communication and hands-on execution, delivering against key executive talent priorities and critical regulatory and board requirements related to the leadership population.

Requirements

  • University degree or related business experience.
  • Strong communication, presentation and storytelling skills (oral, business writing, PPT) with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely for senior executive audiences.
  • Capability to lead projects from initial planning phase to execution and sustainment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to get things done, meet tight timelines and manage multiple deliverables.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to derive insights to inform decision-making, as well as establish and maintain necessary controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Ability to navigate and adapt through ambiguity, complexity and change.
  • HR acumen, including experience in leadership and talent management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with board reporting and/or regulatory compliance
  • Experience influencing and collaborating with executive-level stakeholders
  • CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Solution, implement and operationalize enterprise talent management priorities that activate our Leadership Strategy across key talent segments (e.g. succession planning, talent planning).
  • Establish and reinforce strong governance mechanisms to lead the design, socialization and execution of clear talent management processes with key partners across the organization (e.g. HR Talent Partners, Compensation, HR Governance & Controls, Corporate Secretary, Compliance).
  • Support board governance activities, including reporting and insights on cyclical and targeted talent initiatives that the Board provides oversight on.
  • Leverage Workday to advance enterprise talent management data and reporting capabilities, partnering with the Talent Data Management & Analytics team.
  • Complete data analysis to derive insights and drive decision making.
  • Understand regulatory requirements applicable to talent practices and work with global partners to monitor the evolving regulatory environment and impacts to internal processes.
  • Lead projects end-to-end with strong project management capabilities.
