About The Position

This role provides a constrained production plan and deployment recommendations using appropriate planning tools in support of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The plan aims to balance service levels, distressed inventory rates, finished goods inventory levels, and the associated costs of manufacturing and distribution. The Senior Manager will be responsible for highly complex and visible categories, interacting regularly with Marketing, Plant Management, Operations, and Category Management leadership. This position also supports and leads the development of incremental tools and processes for organizational growth, including innovation and LEAN initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years field experience in planning and operating supply chain assets within a high-volume CPG environment.
  • Proficient or well-developed with advanced planning technology and decision support tools.
  • Proven problem-solving experience involving a variety of functional departments and management levels.
  • Excellent PC skills – Excel, Word, Power Point, JDA, and SAP technology.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.

  • CPIM or APICS designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a 13-week master production plan for assigned categories across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Plans, controls production, and sets distribution inventory goals for finished goods.
  • Maintains Manugistics settings and enters/maintains purchase orders for the assigned category.
  • Validates long-term schedules (months 3-18) and maintains the JDA model to support Plant Planning requirements.
  • Represents Supply Chain in the S&OP process and leads weekly Operations Meetings.
  • Communicates supply chain issues and recommendations for resolution.
  • Interfaces with Plant Schedulers to convert the production plan to a finite schedule weekly.
  • Reviews potential shortages daily and communicates distressed information.
  • Notifies Procurement and Plant Planning of significant changes affecting high-risk items.
  • Participates in cross-functional team meetings to support business initiatives and adjust plans.
  • Drives resolution of shelf-life issues on packaging and raw materials with Procurement and the Distressed Sales Team through the S&OP process.
  • Works across and collaborates with multiple categories to mentor, coach, train, and develop other planners.
