About The Position

As a Senior Manager in the Supply Management team, you will lead all aspects of procurement for the Corporate and Technology teams, including the development and execution of sourcing strategies, contract management activities, operational and project procurement support, and Vendor risk management. As an experienced leader, your goal will be to have a strategic approach to procurement planning, ability to proactively manage Vendor risks, the ability to drive value for your stakeholders, and ability motivate your team through a creative approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. Your success as part of the Supply Management Leadership Team, will be shown through your work with leadership and peers to drive the Strategic outcomes for the team.

• University degree in Business, Technology (IT), Law or related field
• 10-15 years of experience in procurement or contracts
• 7+ years of experience leading cross functional teams
• Experience in navigating in a fast-paced, changing environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience in IT with an understanding of core IT functions, current and emerging technologies would be an asset.
• MBA would be an asset
• Supply Management Professional (SCMP) designation would be an asset

Responsibilities

• Bring a deep experience of leading procurement teams, working with business stakeholders to prioritize business needs, identifying and managing Supply Chain and Vendor risks, and driving Vendor accountability and performance.
• Ensure procurement processes are followed, from conception to close-out, in accordance with Irving Oil Supply Management Policy and practices
• Develop and manage a strategic procurement plan aligned to the business strategic business plans. This includes developing a 5-year procurement strategy for the Corporate & Technology teams and aligning team priorities to deliver the defined strategic outcomes.
• Lead the execution of Strategic Sourcing strategies and sourcing activities aligned to the 5-year strategic plan.
• Proactively drive Vendor accountability through progress meetings, issue management, order management (requisition to payment), risk management practices.
• Leverage existing or new tools/practices to proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks within the Corporate and Technology teams.
• Provide leadership and coaching to a diverse team of procurement professionals, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities, enabling career growth opportunities, and providing support to deliver on key business objectives.
