About The Position

Abbott is a global healthcare leader focused on improving people's health through breakthrough science. The Lake County Manufacturing Site has an opening for a Senior Manager of Site Supply Chain. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of end-to-end supply, including raw material procurement, intermediate and finishing manufacturing, and associated inventory. The goal is to maintain inventory levels within supply and cost expectations while achieving delivery targets. The incumbent will manage daily supply and logistics activities to maximize efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness. Activities encompass materials planning and control, procurement, inventory management, production activity support, intermediate supply management, and finished goods delivery. The role involves developing and implementing schedules and procedures, allocating resources to meet targets across site planning, production activity control, and scheduling. Collaboration with functional and operational managers in manufacturing, quality, engineering, and R&D is essential to integrate supply activities with other business areas. Additionally, the position requires selecting and managing supplier relationships to minimize costs and ensure service standards, as well as leading, directing, evaluating, and developing staff to ensure effective resource utilization and target achievement.

Requirements

• Associates Degree
• Minimum 7 years work related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of end-to-end supply, including raw material procurement, intermediate and finishing manufacturing and associated inventory to ensure inventory levels are maintained within both supply and cost expectations and delivery targets are achieved.
• Manage day-to-day supply and logistics activities to maximize efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of the organization's supply chain.
• Develop and implement schedules and procedures.
• Allocate resources to meet targets across all areas of site planning, production activity control, and scheduling.
• Liaise with functional and operational area managers (e.g., in manufacturing, quality, engineer and R&D) to ensure supply activities are integrated with other parts of the business.
• Select and manage ongoing relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to minimize costs and ensure satisfactory standards of service.
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop staff to ensure resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met.
