About The Position

This role is accountable for shaping and executing the strategy, governance, and delivery of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and data-driven insights across the organization, supporting senior management and Board-level decision-making. The role leads the design, governance, and continuous evolution of Cybersecurity and IT Risk metrics, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and Second Line of Defense (2LOD) requirements. The role partners closely with the Director, Strategy, Solutions & Controls to define and advance best practices, scalable solutions, and tooling to enhance the efficiency, quality, and maturity of KRI design, back-testing, and production.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years working experience in the banking industry
  • University degree in Business, Technology, or related field
  • Proven track record of delivering fit-for-purpose solutions as committed
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing across business, technology and risk functions
  • High attention to detail and strong organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Maintain a centralized inventory of metrics and owners, assessing and documenting proposed changes, and translating those changes into clear impact summaries.
  • Collaborate closely with the metrics team to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements into clear metric definitions and specifications.
  • Lead and drive the evolution and continuous improvement of 'metrics factory' - enhancing processes, governance, tooling, and scalability to support efficient metric development, maintenance and reporting across the organization.
  • Assist to drive innovation across the metrics space through automation, improved processes, and modern data engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data structures, pipelines, and governance frameworks support enterprise wide reporting needs.
  • Participate in the annual metrics refresh to identify required changes, ensure alignment with strategic priorities, and support updates to definitions and scope.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable data, reporting, and metric production deliverables.
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and emerging expectations, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement in regulatory readiness.
  • Establish governance practices aligned with enterprise standards, addressing 2LOD expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
