About The Position

JLL is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing to lead and grow a high-performing Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) team for a large life sciences client. This role involves direct collaboration with S&P leadership, Account leadership, and the client to manage expectations and team deliverables. The position requires accountability for managing, mentoring, recruiting, and developing S&P professionals, driving immediate and sustained benefits through program implementation, operational excellence, and meeting account-level KPIs. The Senior Manager will develop and deliver total supply chain strategies, including category, sourcing, and vendor strategies, supplier performance management, compliance, and identifying improvement opportunities. Proactive management of internal and external expectations by understanding business needs and priorities is crucial.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of strategic sourcing experience for services or indirect categories related to facilities services highly desired.
  • People management experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Excellent PC skills, proficient in MS applications - Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • E-procurement experience, preferably Jaggaer.
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. (approximately 25%).
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high-performing S&P team for a large life sciences client.
  • Manage, mentor, recruit, and develop a team of Sourcing and Procurement professionals.
  • Provide impactful leadership in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.
  • Drive results through S&P program implementation, monitoring progress, managing to operational excellence guidelines, and meeting account level KPIs and goals.
  • Develop and deliver total supply chain strategy and solutions, including innovative category, sourcing, and vendor strategies.
  • Manage supplier performance and relationships.
  • Oversee compliance and controls, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactively manage internal and external expectations by understanding business needs and priorities.
  • Oversight of annual sourcing plan development, management, and execution, including Annual Benchmarking of existing 3rd Party Contractor spend.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for clients/stakeholders and recommend strategies.
  • Own sourcing compliance and controls, including Contract and COI compliance, RFx/Process Improvements, Diverse Spend, and adherence to the Procurement Playbook.
  • Manage the 3rd Party Supplier Performance Management Program, including scorecard development, QBRs, and quarterly reporting.
  • Ensure all sourcing technology tools and subject matter experts are leveraged across assigned accounts.
  • Partner closely with operations teams to support standardized RFP/bid and contracting processes.
  • Develop and maintain a systematic, analytical, and results-based method for savings, monitoring supplier performance, and sourcing effectiveness, and communicate these results.
  • Recruit, develop, rotate, and retain top S&P talent.
  • Support the career development of key roles through mentoring and visible leadership.
  • Create high-performing, integrated sourcing teams committed to delivering sustainable operational excellence.
  • Manage and coach teams on performance, progress, and developmental goals.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
  • Ensure the vision and strategy of the client sourcing plan are implemented and aligned with necessary objectives.
  • Lead and participate in client meetings and strategy sessions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Account Director and other client leadership.
  • Provide strategic vision for all S&P aspects of the business, including best practices and innovation.
  • Develop and lead complex short-term and longer-term sourcing strategies, effectively manage suppliers and internal networks.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders including Corporate Legal and Risk Management to ensure contractual terms and conditions comply with standards.
  • Continually manage/assess suppliers through the established supplier performance management program.
