About The Position

Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is the payments and transaction engine of Scotiabank, supporting Small Business, Commercial, and Corporate clients with treasury management solutions and a best-in-class service model. As businesses evolve their digital capabilities and operating models, their payment needs are also changing. GTB, with its global footprint, offers innovative banking solutions to help clients improve operational efficiencies, simplify payments, enhance working capital, and mitigate financial risk. GTB is a fast-growing team focused on the Americas (Canada, U.S., Mexico) and is seeking top talent. The role contributes to the success of GTB Operations by executing individual goals and plans aligned with business strategies and objectives, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. It provides senior-level strategic execution support by leading the development of executive materials, strategic analysis, and leadership presentations, enabling high-priority initiatives and informed decision-making. The role translates complex business challenges into clear, actionable insights and executive-ready narratives, partnering with leadership to shape strategic direction and deliver high-quality outputs aligned with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline; MBA or equivalent is an asset.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, business management, or similar roles within financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience developing executive-level presentations and Board-ready materials.
  • Experience working directly with senior executives (SVP/EVP level) and supporting high-priority strategic initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint (storyline and executive design) and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, Agile/Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, or Change Management are considered assets.
  • Experience in Global Transaction Banking, payments, or corporate banking operations is an asset.
  • Consulting background (e.g., strategy, transformation, or advisory) is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Lead the development of executive-level materials, including SVP and Board presentations, ensuring clarity, impact, and alignment to strategic objectives.
  • Conduct strategic analysis, research, and synthesis to support decision-making and executive discussions.
  • Provide rapid-response support for high-priority and time-sensitive executive requests.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination required to develop high-quality executive deliverables.
  • Identify and articulate key insights, risks, and opportunities based on data, analysis, and stakeholder input.
  • Support strategic planning processes, including business reviews, leadership offsites, and organizational initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to the Director / Chief of Staff on emerging priorities and special projects.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and executive readiness of all strategic outputs.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
