The Role Senior Manager, Strategic Finance & Corporate Valuation (SFCV) will report to the Associate Director, Strategic Finance & Corporate Valuation Support projects, initiatives, and analyses to inform strategic capital allocation and resourcing decisions Support financial modeling and valuation analyses for internal portfolio and growth initiatives Support financial modeling, valuation analyses, and investment case development for BD/M&A Analyze industry trends/themes and peer company developments and synthesize implications to Genmab’s business and equity value Collaborate closely with other Finance team functions, Strategy & Corporate Development, Business Development & Licensing, R&D, Commercialization, Human Resources, and others

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
  • 4–8+ years of progressive experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic pharma corporate development
  • Passionate about the life sciences, and Genmab’s purpose and mission
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial modeling, valuation, corporate finance, and the capital markets
  • Strong interest in global biotech/pharma industry
  • Structured problem-solving skills
  • Clear and articulate communicator
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, and results-driven

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, M.D., or advanced life sciences degree preferred
  • Prior healthcare investment banking and/or buyside (PE/HF) experience highly preferred
  • Prior healthcare equity research experience with strong financial modeling skills also considered
  • Experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic company (or a strong desire to)

Responsibilities

  • Support SFCV’s goals & objectives aligned with the company’s overarching strategy and 2030 Vision
  • Support financial modeling and perform valuation analyses for organic and inorganic growth opportunities
  • Track performance against plan for transformation initiatives to provide transparency and accountability together with FP&A
  • Report on industry trends and peer company developments, translate their impact on Genmab, and improve overall strategic decision-making quality
  • Support portfolio strategy and investment decisions through formal business case development and partnership with R&D, Commercialization, and Corporate & Business Development
  • Partner with Corporate & Business Development to support execution and implementation of strategic transactions
  • Support long range planning, corporate strategy development, implementation, and execution
  • Drive the annual budget process and the quarterly forecast process to help deliver on business objectives
  • Partner with the business in managing expenses by providing providing deep insights through reports and analysis and help in managing budget and improving forecasting accuracy
  • Create, enhance and maintain financial models related to forecasting and planning
  • Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendation for improvements/efficiencies/ automation
  • Partner with others in Finance & Accounting to ensure effective utilization of systems, application of excel models/tools, reporting and information sharing, and overall compliance with internal controls
  • Work closely with business leaders and the finance team on ad hoc projects to provide in-depth business case analysis and reporting to drive data based decisions
