Senior Manager, Strategic BizOPs

Bask & LatherYonkers, NY

About The Position

Bask & Lather Co. is a fast-growing, scalp-first textured haircare company serving customers across direct-to-consumer, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and major retail channels. We are a lean, entrepreneurial organization that moves quickly, operates with high ownership, and expects team members to turn priorities into action without unnecessary layers or bureaucracy. Role Overview We are seeking a highly analytical, organized, and execution-oriented Senior Manager, Strategic BizOPs to help drive critical initiatives across our fast-moving organization. This person will work across departments to turn business priorities into clear, executable plans and help teams move important work through completion. This is not a traditional project management role focused primarily on maintaining timelines, scheduling meetings, or reporting status. The Senior Manager, Strategic BizOPs will actively unblock work, structure ambiguous projects, identify what is required to move initiatives forward, challenge unnecessarily long timelines, coordinate contributors, and step directly into execution when additional support is needed. The ideal candidate is highly resourceful, exceptionally organized, advanced in Excel and quantitative analysis, comfortable conducting independent research, and able to move seamlessly between Growth, E-Commerce, Brand, Creative, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Retail, Product Development, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in business operations, strategic operations, management consulting, a founder’s office, growth-stage company operations, marketplace or e-commerce operations, or another analytical execution role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets capability, including lookups, pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning, scenario analysis, and executive-ready outputs.
  • Strong quantitative reasoning and demonstrated ability to answer business questions using imperfect or fragmented data.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex cross-functional initiatives from unclear request through completed deliverable.
  • Excellent written communication, including briefs, decision summaries, action plans, and executive updates.
  • Strong research, synthesis, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and maintain accountability without relying on formal authority.
  • Ability to manage multiple unrelated workstreams without losing speed, accuracy, or follow-through.
  • Evidence of materially accelerating work, removing operational constraints, or improving a recurring workflow.
  • High attention to detail without sacrificing speed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in consumer products, beauty, retail, e-commerce, or another fast-moving omnichannel business.
  • Exposure to launches, marketplaces, creative production, retail readiness, supply chain, inventory, or financial analysis.
  • Experience building lightweight operating systems or dashboards from the ground up.
  • Experience in a lean organization where team members regularly work beyond narrow job boundaries.
  • Practical knowledge of artificial intelligence and automated workflows to streamline data synthesis, project documentation, and cross-functional delivery, ensuring speed is balanced with rigorous verification and human oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-functional execution. Plug into high-priority initiatives across the company and drive them from ambiguity to completion.
  • Project decomposition. Translate broad objectives into specific deliverables, owners, inputs, dependencies, decision points, critical paths, and definitions of done.
  • Unblocking and recovery planning. Identify why work is not moving, solve or route the constraint, and provide recovery options before proposing a later deadline.
  • Business analysis. Build Excel and Google Sheets models, trackers, forecasts, scenario analyses, and decision-support tools for leadership and functional teams.
  • Independent research. Research vendors, competitors, markets, tools, retailer requirements, operating questions, and unfamiliar business problems, then translate findings into recommendations.
  • Marketing and launch orchestration. Maintain visibility across brand, product, retail, promotional, and marketing calendars and identify dependencies or conflicts before they cause delays.
  • Rapid-response execution. Step into urgent initiatives, determine the minimum work required, reuse available materials, coordinate parallel workstreams, and help deliver against the business deadline.
  • Brief development. Turn leadership direction into complete, actionable briefs that Creative, E-Commerce, agencies, vendors, or internal teams can execute without repeated clarification.
  • Process improvement. Identify unnecessary complexity, meetings, handoffs, approval layers, and repeated failure points, then redesign workflows for speed and accountability.
  • Leadership visibility. Provide concise reporting on priority initiatives, original commitments, project health, risks, decisions, recovery actions, and next steps.
  • Special projects. Own high-priority initiatives that do not naturally belong to one department or require coordination across several functions.
  • Completion and quality assurance. Verify that the final deliverable is accurate, approved, handed off to the correct owner, and usable for its intended business purpose.
  • Postmortems & System Improvement. After major launches or failures, identify root causes and turn lessons into improved SOPs, workflows, automation, lead times, or controls so problems don't repeat.
  • Capacity & Resource Planning. Determine whether execution issues are caused by bandwidth, capability, process, vendor performance, or poor prioritization and recommend solutions.
