Senior Manager, Software Engineering
About The Position
FIS is hiring a Senior Manager - Engineering to lead software development and quality assurance teams delivering enterprise Supply Chain Finance solutions, including strategic product capabilities and client-funded enhancements. The role combines engineering leadership, delivery ownership, Supply Chain Finance domain knowledge, and client engagement. The manager will work closely with Product, Architecture, and Professional Services to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable product capabilities. The position is based in Jacksonville, Florida, with a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days virtual. Current and future sponsorship are not available.
Requirements
- 12 or more years of overall experience and 5 or more years of engineering leadership experience managing software development and quality assurance teams.
- Significant experience delivering complex enterprise software products and solutions.
- Experience delivering client-funded development or customer-driven product enhancements.
- Strong technical background in Java/J2EE and Core Java, enterprise integration, APIs and services, databases, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, modern engineering practices, Agile or Lean development, and the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle.
- Strong delivery, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Supply Chain Finance, Trade Finance, Working Capital, or commercial banking technology, including work with banks, financial institutions, corporate buyers, or suppliers.
- Experience turning client-funded requirements into reusable product capabilities and working with globally distributed engineering and client teams.
- Experience with microservices, REST APIs, containerized platforms, continuous integration and continuous delivery, DevSecOps, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, or modern web technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead software development and quality assurance teams delivering product roadmaps and client-funded initiatives, while coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Own engineering delivery from requirements and solution design through development, testing, release, and production readiness.
- Partner with Professional Services, Product, and Architecture to define solutions, manage dependencies, and address delivery risks.
- Turn client-funded requirements into reusable and configurable product capabilities while minimizing unnecessary client-specific customization.
- Manage scope, milestones, quality, and delivery commitments, ensuring solutions meet security, performance, scalability, resilience, and supportability standards.
