About The Position

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering will lead engineering teams building a best-in-class consumer health experience on the Health100 platform, focused on identifying, prioritizing, shaping, and executing complex platform initiatives. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will drive innovation, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver scalable cloud-native and AI-enabled solutions that improve consumer experiences and business outcomes. This role works within a top-notch organization of software developers who identify, design, and deliver technology solutions using Java, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and AI-powered capabilities to achieve defined business value. You will guide the integration and validation of complex technology solutions, drive engineering excellence, and leverage emerging technologies including Generative AI and intelligent automation to accelerate innovation and efficiency. Remote eligible within the United States. Preference for candidates in close proximity to our Woonsocket, RI headquarters.

Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing and growing high-performing engineering teams in Agile, cloud-native environments.
Strong hands-on technical foundation in Java and microservices architecture.
5+ years of cloud development experience (GCP preferred), with the ability to guide architecture decisions and evaluate engineering tradeoffs.
Proven ability to lead teams through the full software delivery lifecycle from discovery and design through deployment and production operations at scale.
Experience delivering modern platform capabilities and leveraging AI-powered technologies, large language models (LLMs), intelligent automation, or data-driven solutions to improve business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Healthcare, Retail, or Pharmacy domains.
Strong development experience in Java, microservices, and end-to-end software delivery.
Experience designing or delivering intelligent orchestration platforms, multi-agent workflows, or knowledge-driven systems that leverage AI to automate and optimize business processes.
Familiarity with modern AI application architectures, including LLM orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP), agentic workflows, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI governance practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes/Docker, observability, and DevOps practices.

Team & Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and adoption of modern engineering and AI-assisted development practices.
Execution & Ownership: Lead engineering initiatives end-to-end, from strategy and prioritization through delivery, on complex, high-visibility projects while driving measurable business outcomes.
Performance, Risk & Governance: Establish KPIs and OKRs, proactively mitigate risks, ensure operational excellence, and promote secure, compliant, and responsible use of AI technologies.
Collaboration & Innovation: Partner across engineering, product, design, security, analytics, and business teams while staying current on emerging technologies, including Generative AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation.
